The responsibility of every pet owner
There are many responsibilities of being a pet owner. The most basic of which is feeding and insuring the safety of your pet. Those of course being the standard no matter what kind you have. They can be a handful of trouble if you do not have the ability to keep them out of harms way. Especially when they are younger. They will be forever getting into places that are not safe for them. In some ways they are worse than small children.
There are other responsibilities that come with a pet. Most people aren’t aware of the most important one. Loving them. That means several things. It means that when they want attention, give it to them. Take a moment out of your day to pet them and pay attention to them. It also means that when they are sleeping, leave them alone. They don’t want to be disturbed any more than you do. If you bug them when they are sleeping they will believe that it is acceptable to pester you too.
Having a pet is a large responsibility. It is worth the trouble and expense. For all the love that you give to them, they will give it right back to you. There is no better feeling in the world. I don’t know anyone who would trade it.
