Always remember that when you are housebreaking a puppy, they’re attention span is very short
Housebreaking a puppy isn’t as hard as scaling a cliff or nursing a sick man back to health… it does however require the same amount of patience and nerve and sense of humor. Housebreaking a puppy will require that you keep your temper in check, that you are consistent and above all… that you don’t mind that most of your house maybe destroyed in the learning process.
Housebreaking a puppy requires that you do more than just yell at him when he does something inappropriate. A young puppy is wild and out of control. They don’t know that chewing on the couch is wrong or that following his natural urges all over the oriental rug is maybe not the best of ideas.
Be patience with your puppy. Buy a lot of books that will help you teach your puppy about what is and isn’t appropriate behavior. They would be your best source of information on how to train your puppy right and keep your sanity at the same time. Be consistent and always remember when housebreaking a puppy, you want to train them right, before they break your house.
